Fonality has changed the world for millions of small and medium-sized businesses that need affordable, enterprise-class phone systems. Before Fonality created PBXtra, its award-winning IP-PBX system, businesses only had two options: pay astronomical prices for traditional PBX systems or settle for the inexpensive, feature-lean key systems that have always made businesses look and sound small. Fonality provides the competitive edge and platform to compete with much larger companies with its scalable enterprise-class PBX phone systems that cost 40 to 80 percent less than comparable systems.
That’s why Fonality now serves more than 5,000 businesses in 100 countries and why its users have made over 225 million, high-quality phone calls. From single businesses with basic telephony needs to distributed call centers to national corporations that need advanced presence management and communication tools, Fonality’s solutions meet the demands of any business environment.
Fonality was founded in 2003 as a residential VoIP provider by serial entrepreneur and small business expert, Chris Lyman. Within months, Lyman and his team of four people needed to purchase a phone system fo their new office. After shopping around and receiving a $15,000 bid for a phone system for five employees, Lyman went to his team and said “we’re in the wrong business!” Fonality instantly shifted gears from residential VoIP to business phone systems, and built version 1.0 of PBXtra.
